Prairie Food Co-op Community Grocery

2019 Elections

PARTICIPATE IN OUR CO-OP BOARD ELECTIONS!

It's that time of year where we practice Co-op Principle #2 - Democratic Member Control - by electing owners to serve on our board. Owners will vote for directors to fill four board positions, and those elected will serve three-year terms: June 1, 2019 – May 31, 2022. As a startup co-op, ours is a “working board”, not simply a “governing board”. All board members serve as volunteers without compensation and they devote significant time and attention to this worthy effort.

We are fortunate that four Co-op owners have stepped forward and volunteered to serve on the Co-op board. Three board candidates are incumbents who have served 1 full term, and the fourth has been serving as an interim director for the past year. We have provided a link below to photos and bios of these individuals.

Voting will take place both electronically from April 16 - April 30, and in person at our Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 30. Even though there are only four candidates who stepped forward to run for four positions, we ask that you cast your ballots.

Even if you vote electronically, we encourage you to attend your Co-op Annual Meeting, as we’ll share information on the Co-op, hear from the 101 South Main developer, and have fun being together. All owners are encouraged to attend our Annual Meeting to hear our plans for opening day.
