Volunteers are at the heart of Prairie Food Co-op. Now that our community-owned grocery store is open, volunteer support helps us grow stronger, deepen community connections, and expand the programs, products, and experiences we offer our shoppers and owners.

The more volunteers we have—both in-store and behind the scenes—the more we can reinvest in our local food system and strengthen our shared ownership model.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Tablers
One of the most engaging ways to support the co-op, tablers represent Prairie Food Co-op at farmers markets, community events, info sessions, and in-store activities. You’ll connect with potential owners and shoppers, share what makes our co-op unique, and keep current owners informed about news and initiatives.

Event Organizers
Help bring our community together by supporting co-op events—from planning and venue coordination to day-of logistics and hospitality.

Co-op Ambassadors
Build relationships with your neighbors, local businesses, nonprofits, community groups, and municipal leaders. Ambassadors help identify opportunities for Prairie Food Co-op to table, partner, or participate in local events and gatherings, or act as in-store ambassadors for shoppers new to co-ops.

Teach a Class
Have a skill to share? We’re always looking for community educators to lead cafe classes or events on gardening, canning, fermenting, cooking, DIY skills, and more. Teaching/presenting at the co-op is a fun way to share knowledge and connect with like-minded neighbors.

Tech & Organizational Support
If you’re comfortable with Google Drive, spreadsheets, CRM/CMS tools (like WordPress, NationBuilder or Salesforce), or general data organization, your skills can make a big impact behind the scenes.

Web & Graphic Design
Support our digital presence by helping update website content, promotional materials, and visual assets used in-store and online.

Flexible & Short-Term Help
Prefer something low-commitment? From handing out flyers to helping with quick tasks, we offer flexible volunteer opportunities that fit busy schedules.
