Knife Skills with Crystal of Culinary Confidante

If you're a PFC Owner (or about to become one) then there's a good chance you know your way around a kitchen. But can you chop, mince, dice, and slice like the pros? We think this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn from a real pro!
We've teamed up with proud PFC Owner #941, Crystal Echevarria (more about her below!) of Culinary Confidante, who will demonstrate basic knife skills on commonly used produce as we make ourselves a fresh watermelon salad, pico de gallo, guacamole to snack on and mirepoix to take home.
If time permits, Crystal will also demonstrate basic knife care and maintenance.
We encourage you to bring your own chef knife and paring knife, but if you don't have one or either, we'll have extras on hand!

Watermelon, Feta, and Mint Salad (Watermelon, Feta, Mint, Lime)

Pico De Gallo & Guacamole (Tomato, Onion, Cilantro, Lime, Jalapeno, Avocado) with Tortilla Chips

Mirepoix (Onion, Carrot, Celery)

We will also provide a selection of wine and locally crafted brew

More about Crystal

Crystal has always had a passion for cooking and an interest in health and fitness. She began her career focused on nutrition but quickly noticed how many people didn't want to eat healthy because it didn't "taste good". Not being one to give up, Crystal began her culinary education in an effort to create delicious healthy food. She has worked in kitchens, fitness facilities, and even child nutrition programs.

Through Culinary Confidante, Crystal provides personalized in-home culinary coaching, cooking parties, personal chef services and workplace wellness workshop.

She received her B.S. in Nutrition, Dietetics & Hospitality from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois before attending Kendall College’s Culinary Arts program in Chicago where she earned her Personal Chef & Catering Certificate.
