I just became an owner of Prairie Food Co-op. This is an exciting project that I support and I want to tell you about it.

Prairie Food Co-op (PFC) is a community-owned grocery store that will be located at 837 S Westmore-Meyers Rd in Lombard in the Eastgate Shopping Center (just west of Ace Hardware)! Prairie Food Co-op's mission is to support local farmers and food producers. As a Cooperative business, PFC is owned by residents in Lombard, Villa Park, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, and beyond.

We are working toward 2,000 Owners so that we can open a successful, thriving store that serves the community for decades to come. Each ownership costs $200 (per household). It’s a lifetime Ownership – there’s no renewal needed! As an owner you are eligible to take part in the decision making around how the store operates and how the revenue it generates is used to reinvest in the community. Owners may stand for election to the Board of Directors.

Will you join me by becoming a PFC owner today? You can either pay the full $200 all at once, or sign up for the easy installment plan. This plan let’s you put as little as $25 down and then make monthly payments until the $200 Ownership fee is paid.
